Author Bio

Karen Ross Epp grew up in the hills and farmland of southeastern Iowa near Mt. Pleasant. Karen retired from a career in public school education where she taught the visual arts. She enjoys country living on the edge of the beautiful Kansas Flint Hills. She holds Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas.

Her first book, “With Love Stan: A Soldier’s Letters From Vietnam To The World,” was also published by Author House. Her book has been important work which recognizes the sacrifice of the brave men and women who fought in that unpopular war. “With Love Stan:” is an account of her brother, Sp4, Stanley D. Ross’s tour of duty in Vietnam during 1969, and his ultimate sacrifice in that war. Her book has been adopted by numerous High Schools as part of their Vietnam era curriculum studies, and Karen has been a guest speaker at many Veteran groups, libraries, college forums and high school history events. She was instrumental in providing the Sullivan Brother’s Iowa Veteran’s Museum with artifacts for their Vietnam exhibition.
